South West Co-operative Support is an approved support provider for the Big Lottery Fund’s new £10M fund Big Potential initiative. We have significant expertise in this field and especially in relation to community shares. [YouTube video]
A grant from this fund will help VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) organisations at the beginning of their social investment journey, to get specialist and tailored support to become investment ready.
A pilot initiative in self-regulation for community shares led by the Community Shares Unit. The Complaince Mark will be launched officially on 30th June 2015 at FC United in Manchester. Hilary Sudbury is a licensed practitioner, one of the initial five to be licensed to assess community shares offers for the compliance mark. A further two SWCS advisers are currently working towards also being licensed to issue the compliance mark.

Between August 2009 and May 2014 South West Co-operative Support managed the SW region contract for the Co-operative Enterprise Hub. This was a national UK wide initiative, funded by the Co-operative Group, which providedup to 4 days specialist support and advice to both new start and existing co-operatives and community benefit societies.
